Three Shropshire displays are confirmed: Craven Arms on 24 October, £6.30 an adult in advance, then Shrewsbury and Whitchurch on 7 November, both two shows.

Three Shropshire firework displays have confirmed 2026 dates: the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre at Craven Arms on Saturday 24 October, then two on Saturday 7 November, the Bonfire and Firework Spectacular at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury and Bonfire Night at Alderford Lake in Whitchurch. Bonfire Night itself falls on Thursday 5 November.

Updated 3 October: Craven Arms advance tickets are £6.30 an adult and £4.50 a child, and Alderford Lake has confirmed its Whitchurch display for 7 November.

None falls on the 5th, which is normal for Shropshire: the county’s biggest displays bracket it, one at the start of half term and two on the following Saturday.

Craven Arms, Saturday 24 October

The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre on School Road, Craven Arms SY7 9RS runs what it calls “the best bonfire and fireworks around”, and its 2026 listing is complete (Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre):

  • Gates open 5pm. Bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks at 7.30pm, event ends 8pm.
  • The gates close at 7.15pm and no one is admitted after that.
  • Advance tickets: £6.30 an adult, £4.50 a child. On the gate: £7 an adult, £5 a child. Under-5s are free either way.
  • Full bar, music, catering and family entertainment.
  • No dogs. No sparklers.
  • Parking is off site, in the town’s car parks, a short walk from the centre.
  • There are random security bag checks at the gate.

The centre is run by Grow Cook Learn, a registered charity, and the display is sponsored by Craven Arms Town Council, Euro Quality Foundation and QMG Services. The 7.15pm gate close is the detail that catches people out: arriving at 7.20 for a 7.30 display means not getting in.

Shrewsbury, Saturday 7 November

The West Mid Showground on Berwick Road, Shrewsbury SY1 2PF runs the Bonfire and Firework Spectacular, one of three annual events the Shropshire and West Midland Agricultural Society stages on its own ground.

  • Saturday 7 November 2026. Two displays: the first at 6.15pm, quieter and aimed at younger children, and a louder one at 7.45pm.
  • Adults £15. Children aged 0 to 15 go free. A carer ticket option is available at booking.
  • Camping with electric hook-up is sold alongside: £50 for the night of the 7th or £70 for both the 6th and 7th, each covering two adults and up to three children including event entry. One-night campers must arrive before 3pm.
  • All proceeds go to the society’s Rural Charity.

Tickets are at tickets.westmidshowground.co.uk.

The start time is published two ways. The showground’s own event page says 16:00 to 21:00; its ticket shop says 16:30 to 21:00 for the same event. The 6.15pm and 7.45pm display times only appear on the event page, not on the ticket page. Plan around the displays rather than the gate time, and check the ticket confirmation.

Whitchurch, Saturday 7 November

Alderford Lake on Tilstock Road, Whitchurch SY13 3JQ has confirmed Bonfire Night for Saturday 7 November 2026, the same night as the Shrewsbury display (Alderford Lake):

  • Gates open 5pm.
  • 7pm: a sound-sensitive display, for anyone who wants the fireworks without the noise.
  • 8pm: the main display, set to music.
  • The bonfire is lit before the gates open, for safety.
  • Funfair rides and games, and food stalls.

Alderford has not put prices on the event page; tickets are sold through its online booking shop. Parking details will be shared nearer the night, the lake says, once it knows what the weather will do. On normal days parking there is free for three hours and £5 for the day.

What is not happening, or not yet announced

Oswestry. The town council’s fireworks display in Cae Glas Park was free, low-noise and run with Oswestry Borderland Rotary, but the council’s event page still shows 2 November 2024 and has not been updated (Oswestry Town Council). Shropshire Fire and Rescue’s listing for the same display is older still, dated 2012. The council has published 2026 dates for its Halloween market, its Christmas events and its Remembrance parade, so the absence of a fireworks date in the same calendar is worth noting rather than assuming. Nothing is confirmed either way.

Shropshire Council runs no display of its own. Its role at this time of year is trading standards advice on buying and using fireworks safely.

Bridgnorth and Church Stretton have both had displays in recent years, run by the rugby club and by 2nd Longmynd Scouts rather than by any council. Neither had published a 2026 date when we checked again on 3 October. Club and scout displays are often announced in October, so this page will be updated then.

Before you go

Rural Shropshire displays are dark-lane events. All three confirmed ones sit outside their town centre: Craven Arms parking is entirely off site, and the showground is a 15-minute walk from Shrewsbury railway station along Chester Street and Coton Hill. Our parking page has the council car park tariffs and which ones are free on a Sunday, and the roadworks and travel page carries anything that might be in the way.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a firework display in Shrewsbury this year? Yes. The Bonfire and Firework Spectacular at the West Mid Showground on Berwick Road runs on Saturday 7 November 2026, with a quieter display at 6.15pm and a louder one at 7.45pm. Adults are £15 and children aged 0 to 15 go free.

Is anything on in Shropshire on Bonfire Night itself? Nothing confirmed. Bonfire Night 2026 is Thursday 5 November, and all three of the county’s confirmed displays are on Saturdays, one before it and two after.

Is there a fireworks display in Whitchurch this year? Yes. Alderford Lake on Tilstock Road runs Bonfire Night on Saturday 7 November 2026, gates 5pm, with a sound-sensitive display at 7pm and the main display at 8pm.

Which Shropshire display is nearest to the October half term? Craven Arms, on Saturday 24 October, which the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre bills as the night that kicks off half term. Gates open at 5pm and close at 7.15pm.

Is the Oswestry fireworks display happening in 2026? Not confirmed. Oswestry Town Council’s fireworks page still shows the 2 November 2024 date, even though the same council has published 2026 dates for its other seasonal events. Watch that page rather than assuming either way.

Are the displays low noise? Oswestry’s has been in past years. Of the confirmed 2026 displays, Alderford Lake in Whitchurch runs a sound-sensitive display at 7pm before its main one at 8pm, and the Shrewsbury event splits into an early display at 6.15pm with a reduced noise level for younger children and a louder one at 7.45pm.
